Why should climate control be designed before my home is built?
The earlier we become involved, the more options we have to conceal ductwork, reduce ceiling bulkheads, optimise airflow and create a quieter, more efficient system. Early planning often produces a cleaner architectural finish while reducing costly changes later.
What makes Pinnacle different from a normal air conditioning company?
Pinnacle specializes in climate control for architect-designed and luxury homes. Rather than simply installing air conditioners, we design complete climate control systems that prioritize comfort, aesthetics, efficiency and long-term reliability.
Do you only work on luxury homes?
Luxury homes are our specialty, but we also work on premium residential properties, apartments, boutique commercial spaces and selected office projects where quality and design matter.
Do you work throughout South Africa?
Yes. Our head office is in Gauteng and offices in the Western Cape, and we work on projects throughout South Africa, including the Western Cape, Garden Route and other regions.
Can you work with my architect and interior designer?
Absolutely.
Most of our projects involve close collaboration with architects, builders and interior designers to ensure the climate system integrates seamlessly into the home’s overall design.
What type of air conditioning system is best for a luxury home?
Every home is different.
The ideal system depends on:
- House orientation
- Ceiling design
- Lifestyle
- Number of rooms
- Usage patterns
- Budget
- Architectural requirements
We design each system specifically for the home rather than using standard packages.
What is a ducted air conditioning system?
A ducted system uses one concealed indoor unit connected to multiple rooms through insulated ducting, providing discreet air distribution via ceiling diffusers.
It offers a clean architectural appearance with minimal visible equipment.
Is ducted air conditioning quieter?
Yes.
Because the indoor equipment is hidden away and only conditioned air enters the room through diffusers, ducted systems are generally much quieter than wall-mounted split units.
Can each room have its own temperature?
Yes.
With zoning systems / air management systems, different rooms can have independent temperature control, improving comfort while reducing energy consumption.
Can air conditioning be installed after my house is built?
Yes.
Although early planning provides the best result, many completed homes can still accommodate a concealed climate control system through careful design using bulkheads, ceiling spaces and other architectural solutions.
What temperature should I set my air conditioner to?
Most homeowners find 20°C–24°C provides excellent comfort while maintaining good energy efficiency.
Is zoning worth it?
For most larger homes, yes.
You only cool/heat the rooms being used, improving both comfort and operating costs.
How long does installation take?
The duration depends on the size and complexity of the project.
Large custom homes are typically completed in stages alongside the building programme.
Do you handle the complete installation?
Yes.
From design and equipment selection through installation, commissioning and final handover.
How often should my system be serviced?
We recommend servicing every six months.
Regular servicing helps maintain efficiency, extend equipment life and preserve manufacturer warranties.
Why is maintenance important?
Routine maintenance:
- Improves efficiency
- Reduces breakdowns
- Extends system lifespan
- Maintains indoor air quality
- Protects your investment
Do you offer maintenance plans?
Yes.
We offer scheduled maintenance packages designed for homeowners who want their systems professionally maintained throughout the year.
Can you review architectural plans before construction starts?
Yes.
We regularly review plans and provide recommendations that improve installation, performance and architectural integration.
When should my builder involve Pinnacle?
As early as possible ideally before slab construction or roof installation.
This provides maximum flexibility for concealed duct routes and equipment placement.
Can you advise on ceiling bulkheads and service spaces?
Absolutely.
We work with architects and builders to ensure sufficient space is allocated while preserving the intended design.
Can I control my air conditioning from my phone?
Yes.
Many systems allow control via smartphone apps, tablets or smart home integration.
Can my system integrate with a smart home?
Yes.
Many of the systems we specify integrate with leading smart home platforms for centralised control.
Do your installations include a workmanship warranty?
Yes.
Our workmanship is backed by warranty, with manufacturer warranties applying to the equipment supplied.
Why should I choose Pinnacle instead of another installer?
Because climate control is all we do.
We focus on engineered comfort rather than simply selling air conditioners. Our systems are designed around the architecture of the home, delivering discreet installation, exceptional comfort and long-term performance.
